As Long As You Want Me

“As Long As You Want Me” was a transition album for us. These 9 songs are actually a compilation of 2 smaller EPs, the 4 song original “As Long As You Want Me” EP recorded again at YWAM in Montana in 2002, and the 5 song EP “Songs I Have Written” made after we left YWAM.

This album, and especially the original 4-song EP, was a turning point in writing (and production, to an extent) for us. We had figured out a few things over the years creating albums, and we had also learned a lot in the songwriting department. This album contains probably one of our “hookiest” pop songs ever, the title track “As Long As You Want Me”. The story of that song is one of those just-sat-down-with-the-guitar-and-started-playing-it ones. It felt like a gift. It was also very personal, as the second verse was all about my father who had passed away the year before. I’ve always felt that song deeply when playing it live.

The last 5 songs were recorded my little brother’s Korg D1200 in my mom’s basement one year over Christmas. Amazing production it was not, but I really had a lot of fun doing it, and still love those songs.
