Hand Without Your Face
I wanted to walk upon the water
What glory to be seen upon the waves
But my past attempt at faith, it always falters
And I strain to keep my eyes upon Your face
As I breathe Your name
And I hear hope say
I would never want Your hand without Your face
I would never want to walk upon the waves
Without Your love to hold me
I wanted to be Your greatest servant
It seems in grace a man can still choose his own way
I took my eyes off perfect love and perfect beauty
But in the dark of night I heard Your sweet voice say
That you love me the same
And You’ll never change
I would never want Your hand without Your face
I would never want to walk upon the waves
Without Your love to hold me
And in that day that we come before You we will hear You say
Although some did miracles for You, You still did not know their names
So I say, “Here am I, I have nothing for You, but I need you just the same”
Seems the glory of God that I was seeking
Is to be loved with perfect love and perfect grace
And I know that all that I can offer
Is to receive and know the love that calls my name
As I stand amazed
At Your love for me
I would never want Your hand without Your face
I would never want to walk upon the waves
Without Your love to hold me
And Your arms to keep me safe
